Ullapool Guitar Festival 2026
The Ullapool Guitar Festival (UGF), established in 2000, is an annual guitar music festival held at The MacPhail Centre in Ullapool on the shores of Loch Broom, Highland, Scotland. The 2026 edition takes place on October 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The festival was originally founded to bring business and tourism into the local community, and has grown from performances in local pubs and the village hall to its current home in the MacPhail Centre, a first-class performance venue with superb acoustics and space for workshops and a trade show. Across the weekend, attendees can enjoy daytime concerts, masterclasses led by established guitarists and emerging tutors, evening Festival Club sessions and an expanding trade show — with the mix of electric and acoustic, steel and nylon, and seasoned performers alongside students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Over the years more than one hundred guitarists from around the globe have performed, with artistes such as Hugh Burns, John Goldie, Will McNicol, Tristan Seume and Clive Carroll as regulars. Everyone mingles in the informal weekend atmosphere and you are likely to find yourself seated beside a guitar legend in the Festival Club.
