_______________________________________________________________________A hobby that became a careerWe have always packed a rock pick, a chisel and other tools in our holiday luggage. The Pfundt family has been collecting minerals for more than 50 year. In Germany, there were deposits on slag piles and surface mines, including in the Harz, the Fichtelgebirge in Bavaria, the Black Forest, and the Hunsruck. Other destinations, such as the islands of Elba Sardinia, and Corsica provided natural stone treasures. Our collection of amethysts, rock crystals, agates and rose quartz was so large that it was almost like a "mine". We began attending mineral shows outside Berlin in addition to our own collecting. In 1975, the idea of a trade show/sales exhibition in Berlin was implemented. The Congress Hall in Berlin Tiergarten was rented. The Berlin Minerals, Fossils and Jewellery Show moved to the Berlin Radio Tower exhibition halls after its collapse in 1980. Doris Pfundt, with all of her family's support, is the person who organizes the exhibition.
